Exercise 3: Histogram

A histogram is a representation of highlights and shadows in an image. There 256 levels in a 8 bit histogram. which runs from 0 black left, to 256 white right.

Photo 1: low contrast




In this photo there is some highlight clipping on the horizon and in the clouds. The histogram for this photo shows that a lot of the information is
grouped to the right. This shows that there is not much contrast in this photo.

 Photo 2: medium contrast
 
 There is a little clipping in the trees in this photo. I was quite surprised at the difference between the histograms on the camera's LCD screen and the one in the photo editing software.

Photo 3: high contrast
                                                 


I couldn't see any highlight or shadow clipping in this photo. Most of the information in this histogram is from the middle to the left.
