Assignment 2: Digital image qualities

It took me a while to decide on the theme for this assignment, I finally decided on trees as the theme. I was not sure about doing trees with it being winter, but I thought I would try to shoot from different angles.
High-dynamic range
For this photo I thought, I would a try close-up of part of the tree. I took a number of different photos and played about with the composition until I was happy with it. I did no post processing with this photo.
Low-dynamic range
I took this photo a number of times from different viewpoints. I also tried a number of different camera settings and tried different compositions of the photo. I cropped the right-hand side of the photo little in Photoshop.

Low light
This photo was taken at ISO 800. This was because it was a dull day and there was some trees at the back blocking some of the light. I took a number of different photos of the tree stump from different angles to see which I like the best. I did a tight crop on this photo to get a better effect of the tree stump.

Mixed lighting

I was struggling with the mixed lighting condition for this photo. With my theme being trees, I thought the log in my fish tank may be ok. I tried many different viewpoints for this photo. I also cropped from the left-hand side and a little from the top of the photo.

For this photo I zoomed in to the bottom part of the tree, to see what the contrast would be like between the green grass and tree stump. I also tried a number of different focal lengths. I cropped this photo from the right-hand side to emphasise the tree stump.

I shot this photo from below, I liked the effect of the blue sky through the branches of the tree. This photo took me a number of attempts playing about with the composition. I also liked how the light was falling on the branches of the tree. I also cropped this photo little from the right-hand side.
