Exercise 11: Raw

I set the camera to shoot in raw and JPEG fine. I took three sets of photos one each format, then I compared to versions of the same scene. Looking for differences in dynamic range, white balance and colour. I have only shot in raw once before.

Daylight
JPEG

RAW
The colour temperature in the raw photo is slightly cooler than in the JPEG photo. There is much more versatility in processing a raw file. You can control so many aspects of the photo more accurately.

High dynamic range
JPEG

RAW
The raw photo looks slightly warmer in the colour  then in the JPEG photo. There are no other differences between the photos.

Artificial light
JPEG

RAW
There is a significant difference in the colour temperature in the raw photo. The JPEG photo is much warmer in colour. I can see no difference in the colour balance in each of the photos.
